Rain Never Stops Our Fun!


     Our hope was to get out to Southworth Park today, but with the changing forecast that predicted the rain might start around 10:00, we adjusted our plan to head to the Outdoor Classroom on campus (behind the baseball field). As we headed out to the woods at 9:30, it started to rain, so we changed plans again. The kids headed out to the woods for a short time while I set up the gym for fun. Instead of playing with rocks and sticks, they had fun riding bikes and jumping in the bouncy house.

 Valentine's Day Fun! Preschoolers have been having a lot of fun learning about Valentine's Day the last couple of weeks.  We have been talking a lot about what it means to give someone a gift or card for Valentine's Day and have practiced making them in so many ways!  Preschoolers have used their coloring, gluing, scissor cutting and so much more to make beautiful cards and gifts for their peers and teachers.

VINS- Ice and Water

 VINS- Ice and Water Preschoolers learned about water and ice during VINS today.  They observe what happens when colors are dripped in hot water, cold water and on ice.  They discussed what animals may be found in the ponds in the Spring.  Ms. Hannah even tried to have a race between a big ice cube and a little ice cube to see which on would melt the fastest.  She didn't realize the heat was on in the classroom and both cubes were completely melted when we went to observe then! Preschoolers then had a chance to melt colored ice cubes, scoop out "frog eggs" from a "pond", and practice pouring, scooping and squirting water using various objects.
