Author's Tea 

What a fantastic wrap up of our semester long Read Around Vermont project. Thank you to everyone who made this project possible. Whether you read at home with your child, came in and read to the students, or joined us on Tuesday for the Authors' Tea, we appreciate your support. It was wonderful to see the students so excited to share the books they wrote and illustrated. I know not everyone was able to make it to the tea, so if you weren't able to make it, I hope you were able to sit down with your child at night and read the books they wrote. First Week Fun!

 First Week Fun! As many of you noticed, your child received a free book from CLiF. Our librarian, Mrs. Wise, wrote a grant for the CLiF organization to work with our school all year long. We will have guests come in periodically to read to us and give presentations about books. The school and your children will also received free books throughout the year.  We have had a fantastic beginning of the school year. At this point, we are setting expectations and learning the routines. The kids are having a wonderful time playing with new friends, checking out the toys that we have in the classroom, and playing outside.            \

Valentine's Day Fun!

 Valentine's Day Fun! Preschoolers have been having a lot of fun learning about Valentine's Day the last couple of weeks.  We have been talking a lot about what it means to give someone a gift or card for Valentine's Day and have practiced making them in so many ways!  Preschoolers have used their coloring, gluing, scissor cutting and so much more to make beautiful cards and gifts for their peers and teachers.

VINS- Ice and Water

 VINS- Ice and Water Preschoolers learned about water and ice during VINS today.  They observe what happens when colors are dripped in hot water, cold water and on ice.  They discussed what animals may be found in the ponds in the Spring.  Ms. Hannah even tried to have a race between a big ice cube and a little ice cube to see which on would melt the fastest.  She didn't realize the heat was on in the classroom and both cubes were completely melted when we went to observe then! Preschoolers then had a chance to melt colored ice cubes, scoop out "frog eggs" from a "pond", and practice pouring, scooping and squirting water using various objects.
