VINS- Ice and Water Preschoolers learned about water and ice during VINS today. They observe what happens when colors are dripped in hot water, cold water and on ice. They discussed what animals may be found in the ponds in the Spring. Ms. Hannah even tried to have a race between a big ice cube and a little ice cube to see which on would melt the fastest. She didn't realize the heat was on in the classroom and both cubes were completely melted when we went to observe then! Preschoolers then had a chance to melt colored ice cubes, scoop out "frog eggs" from a "pond", and practice pouring, scooping and squirting water using various objects.
First Week of Preschool at Westshire We're off to a great start! The staff is having a great time getting to know your children, and the children are enjoying making new friends, playing with their old friends, and playing with all our toys. We're getting used to the routine and learning the expectations. Check out the pictures of what your kids are doing at school.
Sunny Days at Southworth Park Spring has truly arrived! Yesterday was magical! The sun was out, and the warm temperature allowed for short sleeve shirts and some even wore shorts. I always see the growth in the kids at this time of year when we return to Southworth Park after the winter. The walk seems to take half the time it did in the fall with hardly any comments about "are we there yet?" The kids' strength and stamina has definitely increase over the school year. The kids laughed and played in the dirt all morning. It was hard to head back to school at 11:00, but with promises of returning to the park next week, we packed up and headed back for lunch. Our walk to Southworth Park Snack at the park Singing in the hammocks is always a favorite activity Climbing trees and chasing each other also leads to lots of smiles The fairies will be happy that we returned too. Multiple new fairy houses were built.
